저희 연구팀에서 Dr. Charissa Cheah (UMBC), Dr. Cixin Wang (UMD) 교수님 감독하에 한인가정/아시안가정의 코비드기간 중 적응과 12-17세 청소년 자녀가 있는 가정의 회복력, 정체성, 참여에 대한 사회화 과정을 이해하고자 하는 Project ARISE (Asian American Resilience, Identity, Socialization, and Engagement)을 진행 중입니다.
연구 참여 조건?
본 연구에 참여하시려면, 참여를 원하시는 부모님은한국인 또는 필리핀인이어야 하며, 청소년 자녀는 12-17세이어야 합니다. 다문화 가정도 참여가능합니다.
연구 참여 방법?
참여의항이 있으신 분들은 flyer에 나와있는 QR code 또는 여기 링크로 나와있는 form을 작성해 주시면 온라인 설문지가 이메일로 보내집니다. 부모님과 청소년 자녀는 온라인 설문을 통해 미국 내에서의 경험들, 생각, 감정, 그리고 관계에 대해 응답할 것입니다. 바쁘시면 두세번 나누어서 설문을 작성해 주셔도 됩니다. 12개월 후, 두 번째 설문에 응답하셔야 합니다. 원하시는 가정은 인터뷰를 참여하실 수도 있습니다.
연구 참여에 대한 보상?
첫 번째 설문응답 후 참여하신 가정에게는 $35을 드리고, 두 번째 설문 응답 후 $45의 협조비를 드립니다. 인터뷰에 참여하시는가정은 $30의 협조비를 더 드립니다. 추가적으로, 각 시기 마다 $20, $50, 그리고 $100 상금을 추첨하는 제비뽑기에 당첨되실 수 있습니다.
각 시기의 설문을 마치신 모든 가정은 본 연구의 전반적인 결과를 정리한 리포트와 도움이 될 만한 정보(resources)를 보내드립니다. 본 연구를 통한 결과들은 연구원, 교육자 및 전문직 종사자들로 하여금 한인 및 아시안 가정들을 돕는 프로그램과 정보들을 개발할 수 있게끔 도울 수 있습니다. 이러한 정보들을 귀하의 단체에도 보내드릴 수 있습니다.

Subject: Calls for Korean and Filipina/o/s American Families
We have an ongoing study called Project ARISE (Asian Americans’ Resilience, Identity, and Socialization of Engagement), under the supervision of Drs. Charissa Cheah (UMBC) and Cixin Wang (UMD), to understand Korean/Korean American families’ experiences during COVID-19 pandemic.
Who Can Join?
In order to participate in the study, both parents have to be ethnically Asian and the participating parent must be Korean or Filipina/o/x, with a 12- to 17-year-old child. Participating families must reside in the United States. Multiethnic families (with a Korean or Filipia/o/x parent) are also encouraged to participate.
How Do Families Participate?
Any interested families can complete this screening survey (https://umbc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3JVQoj9aNjuQa3k) or email/text us directly. We email a full survey link to invite parents and teens to complete an online survey and share about their experiences. After 12 months, we will ask you to fill out a survey again. Some families may be invited for an interview.
What Will Families Get?
Participating families will receive $35 for completing the first surveys, and $45 for completing the second surveys 12 months later. Families who participate in a follow-up interview will also receive an additional $30. Moreover, all participants will be entered into a luck draw to win cash prizes of $20, $50, or $100 after completing each survey.
Our research team will also provide families with a summary of what we have discovered from this research, our previous findings, and some resources to help families and teens to cope more effectively.
Our study findings can help researchers and other professionals to develop prevention and intervention plans for Asian American families. We can also send your organization these resources.
